Pendant Lights for the Dining Room

You guys, our dining room needs a new light situation bad. There is a chandelier fixture spot ready to have something wired in to it and I’ve been looking around for the perfect addition to the room. I found it. However, there is a slight budget conflict. A girl can dream about $350 light fixtures right?

Sigh. It’s from Ballard Designs and it looks awesome.

Inspired by this via Young House Love:

I also found these options that a little more budget friendly. What do you guys think?

Here is a photo of our dining room.

What do you think? Have you seen any other cool fixtures that you think would look good?

  2. Hi Hannah! I am a good friend of Rory’s and an interior designer. Your dining room and table probably need a larger pendant then the pictures you posted. I would suggest a cluster of 3 pendants. The light pendants you picked out are very architectural so you are pretty much just paying for the form. Check out my facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Roomix-Design/319580064805264 and look for the wire lamp. You can just strip down thrift store lamp shades and hang them from a light kit. Maybe Rory could hardwire them for ya. It looks like you have some electrical access in the ceiling that is just covered up by a plastic plate. Love your blog and let me know if you guys are ever in the CDA, we would love to see ya!

    • Hey Lindsay! Thanks for the feedback. We actually went with the Ballard Designs one when it went on sale a while back, I’ll post a photo soon. Come help me with our guest bathroom redo?! 🙂
